About the event
The purpose of this workshop is to invite a shift in the ordinary perception of our lives, our bodies and our experience of ourselves and others around us. A shift towards a more intuitive, immediate, silent yet vibrant sense of connectedness, strength, openness, love and curiosity for what is. To facilitate this shift we will blend simple meditative exercises, an accessible sequence of yoga postures and free ecstatic dance. These practices will be used to hold space for who we are, to encourage and strengthen a sense of safety and stability by allowing a spontaneous opening and surrender to whatever wants to be heard or expressed. The Dutch philosopher Baruch Spinoza called “hilaritas” that special form of joy that pervades both mind and body when they let go of their grasping and craving, relax into balanced equanimity, and let the infinite around them flow playfully through them, like the inspiration that moves the painter's brush or the dancer's limbs. To find out how to turn this description into a real experience, come to the workshop! If you're curious about the philosophical background that underpins this workshop, check out the blog!
