Spinoza's Ethics

In this reading group we will analyze and discuss Spinoza's masterpiece, the Ethics. Meetings are evey other week, on a working day (tbd), from 5 to 6pm CET. Everybody who's interested is welcome to join. 

The plan is to begin in early October 2023 and a provisional plan includes focusing for each session on a different focal theme, e.g.:

session 1: the ontology of substance (E1p1-6)

session 2: the infinity of substance (E1p7-14)

session 3: divine extension (E1p15 and s)

session 4: divine power(E1p16-20)

session 5: infinite modes (E1p21-23)

session 5: necessity (E1p24-29)

session 6: intellect and will (E1p30-36)
