About the event

During 6 meetings (1h30) we are going to explore a central aspect of Spinoza's philosophy, namely, the distinction between the three kinds of knowledge (imagination, reason, and intuition). We are going to discuss how these three kinds of knowledge correspond to three different ways of experiencing the world; what are the pittfalls and potential of each of them; and how can we use them to enhance our own life.

Session 1: imagination and passions

Session 2: reading through imagination

Session 3: reason vs. prejudices

Session 4: the meditative dimension of reason

Session 5: intuition and love

Session 6: being part

The discussions are based on the forthcoming volume Spinoza's Yoga / Lo Yoga di Spinoza. They also provide a more theoretical background to the meetings planned for the Hilaritas workshop.
