Contact Improvisation Research
Since 2023 I'm interested in dance improvisation, conscious dance, and in contact improvisation (CI) in particular as a space for embodied philosophical research. In this context I both facilitate events to spread CI practice, and develop more academic research projects on specific themes.
I've a training as a conscious dance facilitator (including 'Contact Beyond Contact', Levels 1-2) and completed a CI teacher training in Freiburg in 2024.

Based in Groningen, I try to offer regular CI classes and I monthly co-organize CI day-long events (workshops+jam). All upcoming dates are on hipsy.nl
SpIntuition: Rethinking Intuition through Spinoza's philosophy
I'm currently developing the idea of a larger research project on the notion of intuition, aimed at reconciling its embodied and mental dimensions by relying on some of Spinoza's views about mind-body non-dualism. As part of this project, I propose to study CI as a relevant case to gather further empirical evidence about intuitive experience.
